LL144 mandates that Automated Employment Decision Tools (AEDT) used in NYC must undergo an independent bias audit for disparate impact against protected classes. Employers must publish a summary of the audit results and provide candidates with notice that an automated tool is being utilized.
A NYC-based firm using an AI resume-ranker hires an external auditor to verify the tool's impact ratio. They then post the audit summary on their website to remain compliant with LL144.
