Last updated:
A contractual period during which a vendor must inform a customer of material updates to an AI model before those updates are deployed in production.
Because AI behavior is probabilistic, a silent update can cause model drift or invalidate a previously conducted risk assessment. A notification window (typically 30 days) allows the enterprise to run validation tests on the new version to ensure it still meets safety and accuracy benchmarks before it impacts live business processes.
Real world example:
A bank's fraud detection vendor provides a 14-day window before updating their neural network. This allows the bank's risk team to verify that the new version doesn't increase false negatives on high-value transactions.
